SINTECO innovates and launches safer unit dose packaging machine

Calypso Easy is the new unit dose packaging machine of the Italian multinational company to increase safety and practicality for medications management. The solution was specially designed to South American market. SINTECO will present a Calypso Easy live demo at its booth (street 10, number 198), during Hospitalar 2017, Brazilian exhibition.

Vinhedo(SP), Brazil - SINTECO, a global specialist in process automations and business division of BUCCI Automations, is launching a new concept of unit dose packaging machine, called Calypso Easy, at the 24th edition of Hospitalar Fair + Forum. SINTECO' solution raises patient safety to a new level by providing greater control and minimizing nonconformities throughout the entire unit dose packaging process. SINTECO will present a Calypso Easy live demo at its booth, street 10-number 198, from May 16th to 19th, at the green pavilion of Expo Center Norte, São Paulo city, Brazil.

Calypso Easy is a practical and intelligent unit dose packaging solution from Athena system to unit doses management and production. "We are introducing in the market another automation solution with advanced technology focused on unit dose packaging process. The equipment adds great versatility to the management of several pharmaceutical forms, which are selected, packaged and identified with all needed information to ensure total dose traceability, and the right safety to patients. The automation contains features to prevent empty packages and controls to detect nonconformities, resulting in a highly reliable production, said José Renato Marcuci, Sales Manager of SINTECO Hospital Brazil.

According to the executive, one of the great advantages of Calypso Easy is its capability to allow full integration with other technologies related to the hospital logistic chain, making possible future automation expansion to other stages such as storage and robotic prescription distribution.

In addition, Marcuci pointed out that another great advantage of Calypso Easy is the management savings generated by using a single consumable to pack most diverse pharmaceutical forms, such as pills, capsules, ampoules, vials, syringes, sachets, among others. "Differently to the existing unit dose packaging solutions in the market, SINTECO's solution does not require constantly changes of consumable and manual adjustments to solve this issue, thus avoiding packaging waste," he complete.

SINTECO has large experience in advanced technologies developing. The Italian multinational company deployed its first solutions in renowned European hospitals and grew up adapting them to specific markets around the world, without leaving features that are part of the company's DNA and are essential to guarantee high quality hospital processes: equipment with secure automation, easy and intuitive interfaces, and minimal operator interventions.

Specifically to Brazil, the Sinteco Hospital Manager, Marco D'Incà, emphasized the Brazilian market has been perceived the real need to expand the automation provided to hospitals today, recognizing this is the way to raise safety standards to patients, to optimize pharmaceutical professionals time, to reduce manual tasks and to provide more patient care. "Many hospitals have shown great interest in the Calypso Easy due to its high cost-benefit by providing a set of features" concluded Marco.
